Sarapneumonitis

Dr. Smith asks his patient, "Which do you want first, the good news or the bad news?"
The patient replies, "Give me the good news."

Dr. Smith says, "You're about to have a disease named after you."

Food Recall

FYI to all my friends and family,

NESTLE Toll House Refrigerated Cookie Dough (all kinds) has been recalled due to a multistate outbreak of E. Coli. The product was recalled by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

If you have any types of Toll House refrigerated product, do not use it. Just throw it away. Cooking it is not recommended due to the possible contamination of kitchen utensils and countertops during preparation.

For more information on this and other outbreaks visit this CDC webpage

HP -- NOT Hewlett Packard

I just got an email from the University Hospital announcement people saying that someone has accepted the position as our new Director of the Office of Sustainability.
Sounds like a Harry Potter position. ;D
Just had to share.

Reason for Admission

I hope none of you ever come to the hospital with this reason for admission:

Motorcycle vs. Antelope
...ouch.

My Album Cover

Ever wanted your own Album?
Ever wondered what it would look like?
Well here is your chance.
Follow the simple instructions below and you will create the perfect album for you! :D

P.S. Mine (above) turned out a little ironic...don't you think?

1 - Go to Wikipedia. Hit “random”or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to QuotationsPage.com and select "random quotations"
The last four or five words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to Flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is (barring inappropriate pictures), will be your album cover.

4 - Use Photoshop or similar to put it all together.

This is a fun game. You should try it. Let me know when you do!

Please don't pee in the bushes.

I got this email/newsletter and it made me laugh. I hope it makes you laugh too. :)

"Fellow cyclists,

In an effort to further its reputation as a bicycle friendly city, the City of Holladay has placed a porta-potty on the east side of Wasatch Blvd at approximately 5800 South. This facility was placed as a convenience for the growing number of cyclists on Wasatch Blvd.

Let’s all show the City of Holladay that we appreciate their efforts by using the porta-potty instead of the bushes of the residences along Wasatch.

Please share this email with any and all cycling groups."

Who pees in other people's bushes!?

Salt Lake Highland Games

Saturday was the Salt Lake Scottish Festival!

I don't know if anyone else experienced the rain like we did at Thanksgiving Point, but it felt like hurricane season in Florida. Tents were blowing over each other. Rain was pelting us from all directions. People were scattering like ants being sprayed with Raid. Lightning....thunder....environmental chaos!

But none-the-less,

Come rain, come wind, come......

...hurricane,

...we will be there ready to play!
(warming up our hands by swinging them around- 'Survivor Man' is a useful show!)

Brandon acting like a child at lunch.

Me being dared to eat a soggy fry.
We had a ton of fun despite the elements.
Me, Crazy Aunt Rose and Brandon
We did see some sunshine and rain free skies. Lucky it occurred around competition time for us!

We took 1st place in all 3 of our competitions! (we won't mention the fact that there were no other grade 3 bands to compete against in 2 of those competitions. ahem.)
We took first place out of 4 drum corps for the Drum Salute! Wahoo!
Our Grade 4 band took 4th place out of 10 bands. Way cool for their very first competition!
Sara is a happy, soggy puppy.

Scotland 2010...Out.

Hey everyone who was planning trips to Scotland to watch us in the World Pipe Band Championship of 2010,

The W&D Pipe Band will NOT be going to Scotland in 2010 due to inadequate numbers of players. We are shooting for 2011 though.

Please do NOT book your trips for 2010 (Unless you want to go anyway)

Sorry! I am sad too. Maybe we can have a pretend championship in my backyard so y'all aren't so heartbroken. :D

ALSO: Don't forget the Salt Lake Scottish Festival at Thanksgiving point is this weekend! We will be competing on Saturday in the afternoon but there is a ton of other fun stuff to look at and watch all day! Hope to see ya there!

ATT...Finally!

I finally got the authorization to take my final board exams (Authorization To Test- ATT).

MPJE (Law Exam): June 12....I better get to studying!
NAPLEX (Pharmacy Exam): June 29th (Happy Birthday to me!)
