Salt Lake Scottish Festival

Well Folks! The Salt Lake Highland Games were a BLAST!!

It was a bit chilly but stayed rain-free for most of the day! Wahooo.

...soooooo it's taking way too long to process any of the videos onto my blog....all the videos are on my facebook page. Check 'em out!

Make note that we have 2 separate groups within our band: a grade 3 and grade 4. There are 3 videos of the grade 3, which is the band I play in. So if you want to see me! :D ...check out the Grade 3 stuff!

I am the tenor drummer in the middle. (Tenor=The cool drummers that twirl the sticks about)

1) Drum Salute:

In a drum salute competition, pretty much anything goes. You could even walk on with more than one drum on if you dared (makes it hard to walk though). Anyway, it is our chance to just have fun. So 'ere goes.

2) Timed Medley
We play a set of 8 tunes put together. They have to be within a certain amount of time, therefore the "Timed" in Timed Medley.

3) MSR:
Named after the types of tunes you play in the set: March, Strathspey and Reel.

Enjoy.

Awesome Response

I was surfing the internet on random things (like I do) and I came across this awesome question and answer.

Question: "Where can I get some Upelkuchen and Pishsalver? I want some upelkuchen and pishsalver. Like what they have on Alice in Wonderland. Pishsalver is the potion that makes you shrink and Upelkuchen is the cake that makes you grown. I really wanna shrink and grow. It would be so cool!"

Answer: "go to....
www.everything-is-possible-except-that…

but that would be so awesome though, after i watched the movie, i dreamt it did happen and i found it under a mushroom after i ate it."

Haha. I love the sass.

Costa Mesa Scottish Festival

I'm not very cool lately. I have just been working, baking and banding a lot.
I just got back from the Costa Mesa, California Scottish Festival (I guess that was a week ago).
We took 1st overall! Woot Woot!
We took 2nd the first day and 1st the second day. The rest of the time we partied in the sun. I'll take it.
Sand-stands. Check.

Write in the sand. Check.

Pictures with friends. Check.

Pictures of the ocean. Check.

This was my response to the question "If you could write one thing in the sand, what would it be?"

Sara. You crazy. I love it.
