Is Throwing A Tree Really A Sport?!

I was definitely going to post this a week ago but got really busy, so, here it is very quickly.

Well, I am back from a fabulous band extravanganza in the Rockies. The Longs Peak Scottish Highland Festival hired our band to perform for them at their annual games. The games were held in Estes Park Colorado and it was beautiful (most of the time)! We saw a ton of wildlife and experienced some great weather.

We were featured alongside the Scots Guard Pipe Band established in 1632 who came all the way from Scotland to perform! It was also an honor to play alongside the US Marine Corps Band.

The 3 bands performed for the tattoo held each night starting on Thursday Sep 10. It was great. Here you can see the spoils. Enjoy.

That's right....we were VIPs.

Not in Utah....Nuh....Uhh...

You wouldn't see this in Utah! :D

You may not be able to see it but the coach on the right is wearing a Corona Hat. :D
Plus I just love the name of the team "Jones' Janitorial Sweepers"...I don't know if that would be allowed nowadays either. ;P

The Younger Cooler Sara

I love it when I crack myself up. This time my younger self cracked my older self up. (Amazing, I know!)

I have been going through boxes of old school projects from elementary and junior high that I have kept over the years. It has been pretty entertaining.

A long time ago I had an assignment to make a book about climates and what they are. So of course my mom helps me to make an actual spiral bound book that is pretty cool. I didn't remember doing this so I opened the book and read the first page:

" When I wrote this book
I was going to rhyme it,
but then again
what rhymes with climate?! "

I used to be sooo cool! What happened?!

Contacts, Glasses, Exams...Oh My!

Vision is darn expensive.

Ben and I went to the eye guy on Tuesday and walked out of there minus $600 dollars!

What the heck?!

We probably could have gotten everything cheaper somewhere else but it honestly isn't worth the hassle for me.

We both got the regular eye checkup (I still can't see the E, darn it!), a set of new glasses and frames and 2 boxes of contacts. So we are quite set for a little bit. Check that off my list of a million things to do. :D

Feels good.

Magic Acid

Have you ever had the fun experience of trying to clean off water spots from your shower door? If you think like me you would say it's harder than digging up an Ent from middle Earth.
Well, a little bird named aspen told me the secret weapon to use. Vinegar. At first I thought, "Sure, it may work on your hard water deposits, but my deposits are different. There's no way it can work that well."
So indeed I tried it because my now-opaque glass doors were really starting to bug. I put some vinegar in a spray bottle, marked it vinegar so I didn't try to spray it in my mouth like I did as a child, and grabbed some wash cloths. I sprayed and started wiping and thought, "see it isn't going to work that well." I cleaned the whole door cuz' I'm no quitter and it was a little better but still not very clear. Then I decided to clean the other side just for fun. I did that and all of a sudden I heard angels singing and a light appeared from above. I looked at my door and couldn't believe the metamorphosis it had made in merely seconds. I was so excited I took pictures before and after on another part of glass. I had to wait before I cleaned the rest so ben could see the difference it made!
BEFORE

BEFORE ------------> AFTER

Look at that reflection!
DISCLAIMER: You may not want your glass this clean! Animals (or children) may try to walk through it repeatedly.

So, instinct tells me to ask, "What else can it do?!"

I will tell you now that it can remove stains and make porcelain shine! If you soak a paper towel in vinegar and place it over a hardwater-ring inside the toilet overnight, in the morning, no more ring. Oila!
Like I always say, If it can clean porcelain....it can clean anything. (I don't recommend wood ;P)

So,
Goodbye 409.
Goodbye Scrubbing Bubbles.
Goodbye Comet.

HELLO.......MAGIC ACID.
:D

If you have any more amazing tips like these.....come on ladies! Share the love!
